Checking SAP initial consistency
Next check the availability of the SAP server(s) that was newly installed with all the ser-
vices, such as dialog, batch, update, enqueue, spool, ICM, and J2EE, by executing the trans-
action SM51 as shown in
Figure 7-4
. The output of the transaction should show that the
server status is active with all the installed services.

Double-click the server name or execute transaction SM50 to verify that the status of the
work processes is waiting, as shown in
Figure 7-5
, and there are no issues with the availabil-
ity of the same. In some instances, such as kernel patch errors, there could be issues with the
availability of the work processes; however, applying the newer kernel patch fixes usually
takes care of the issue.
