Define Parameters
During this phase of the SAP installation, choose the parameters required to perform a SAP
installation. Detailed images of the parameters are provided later.
Summary
During this phase of the SAP installation, SAPinst provides a summary of all the installation
parameters entered and will provide one final review and revise option before executing the
install.
Execute
During this phase, SAPinst executes the selected option. This is the longest phase of the
SAP installation.
Completed
This phase marks the completion of the SAP installation by SAPinst. Choosing the Typical
install option means that minimal input is needed during the define parameter phase of the
install, which simplifies the installation process. For most installations, this option is suffi-
cient.
As shown in
Figure 6-8
, select a SAP system identifier (SID) and choose the Unicode
system option. This SID will uniquely identify a SAP system in the landscape.
