It can be seen in Figs. 9.1 and 9.2 that the CE decreases with an increase in
the effective carrier lifetime, which mainly increases the accumulation of the car-
riers and therefore increases the FCA loss. Even with ( τ = 0 ps, red curve) the
plot without considering the effect of the FCA also shows the saturation against
increasing pump power. This is attributed to the TPA which becomes evident
