intriguingandmostlytrue-to-lifeaccountofanavidporcelaincollectorfromPrague'sJewish
quarter.
Sue Gee Letters from Prague . The central character in this topic falls in love with a Czech
student in England in 1968, but she returns home when the Russians invade. Twenty years
later, together with her 10-year-old daughter, she goes in search of him.
Sulamith Ish-Kishor A Boy of Old Prague . This story, set in the Jewish ghetto in the six-
teenth century, tells how a poor Christian boy discovers that Jews are not the monsters that
he's been told. Aimed at children aged 8 to 11.
Kathy Kacer Clara's War . The story of a young girl and her family who are sent from
Prague to Terezín in 1943. The horror is played down as the topic is aimed at children of
10-plus, but nevertheless it is based on truth.
Jill Paton Walsh A Desert in Bohemia . A gripping story set against the aftermath of
World War II and the subsequent political upheaval in Czechoslovakia.
AnthonyJ.Rudel Imagining Don Giovanni . Mozart, Da Ponte and Casanova collaborate on
the production of Don Giovanni with the Marquis de Sade thrown in. An imaginative evoca-
tion of the period, which will delight music lovers.
