Fans of the traditional Balkan grill should make this place their first port of call. Gut-busting
portions of succulent
Čevapčići
(spiced mincemeat rissoles) and
pljeskavica
(hamburger style
patty) served with spicy paprika and
lepinja
(doughy bread), and all washed down with a
bottle of Slovenian Laško beer. It's open around the clock, so just the job for post-drink
munchies.
Daily 24hr.

Start
your day at the “Ham Counter” breakfast spot, just off Dob utca where the emphasis is on
quality. Sandwiches (from 700Ft) are made with local produce and the soft drinks are organ-
ic. It also sells craft beers, wine, and stronger stuff. Pride of place is a shiny red 1972 ham
slicer in the corner - there is room for that and a couple of armchairs, and that is about it.

Stylish, airy
café in the old Jewish quarter with high ceilings and a spacious feel. The chicken breast with
lentils (1800Ft) is excellent, as is the beetroot chocolate cake. And don't forget the coffee -
wonderful stuff, as you might expect when they roast their own and have a champion barista.
