The visual assault begins in
the Pop Art-inspired lobby, and continues through to the small but snappily designed rooms,
decked out in cool reds, greys and blacks, and sporting Swedish hardwood flooring, bamboo-
covered walls an

This rather non-
descript glass and brick building does little to inspire, but the rooms concealed within are
fresh and contemporary; deep-red walls, white
ar
mchairs and low-slung beds. The location
and price makes this a very respectable option.

There are few frills about this solid three-star hotel, located in a slightly down-at-heel neigh-
bourhood ten minutes' walk from Blaha Lujza tér. However, the rooms are perfectly ad-
equ
ate, it's fairly priced, and you'll get a friendly welcome. Triples and quads available too.

This oth-
erwise glum-looking street has been given a welcome dollop of colour, thanks to this cleverly
conceived hotel. The focal point of the building is a gloriously sunny atrium, encircled by
state-of-the-art rooms with floor-to-ceiling window
s, b
uilt-in flat-screen TVs, and bits of art-
work; some rooms have tubs, others have showers.

A fab-
ulously hip and award-winning retreat accommodating eight individually styled rooms and
three apartments in what was once the home of the Hungarian Prime Minister. The relaxed,
shabby-chic style of the reception and lounges (at the top of the hotel, on the second floor -
no lift) is continued throughout - the recycling of fittings in the furniture is great fun. It also
has a members' club, the
Brody Studios
, not far from
Ok
togon, which stages concerts and
shows, and where guests can have lunch. Breakfast €8.
