Múzeum körút ends at
Kálvintér
, a busy intersection with roads going to the airport, the east
and westwards across the river. In 1956, street fighting was especially fierce here as insur-
gents battled tanks rumbling in from the Soviet base on Csepel Island. A freestanding section
of the
medieval walls
of Pest can be found off Vámház körút in the courtyard of no. 16, if
the door is open.
