ARRIVAL AND INFORMATION: PEDASÍ
By bus Minibuses from Las Tablas run approximately every 45min (6am-6.45pm; 45min).
Those heading back to Las Tablas leave from beside the supermarket at similar intervals, with
the last bus at 4pm. The elusive buses bound for Cañas stop outside The Bakery on the main
road but timings are vague.
By plane There are three flights a week to and from Panama City, (Wed, Fri & Sun; 55min;
$105 one way). The airport is 1.5km west of town.
Tourist information Pedasí's tourist office (Mon-Fri 8.30am-3.30pm; 995 2339) lies 50m
off Av Central on the road to Playa Arenal - but don't hold your breath for any useful inform-
ation.
TOURS AND ACTIVITIES
Tours Dive 'N' Fish (operating out of the Pedasí Sports Club, on Av Central on the way
into town; 995 2894, dive-n-fishpedasi.com ) is Pedasí's only tour operator. It is PADI-
certified, offering two-tank dives to Isla Iguana ($95) and Islas Frailes ($125). It also or-
ganizes snorkelling tours to Isla Iguana ($75) and horseriding in the hills ($75). In season
whale-watching trips are on offer ($75) as well as trips to Isla de Cañas for nocturnal turtle-
watching ($75). Most trips include a box lunch and need a minimum of two people. Several
lodgings, such as Casita Margarita , Dim's Hostal and Casa de Campo , also offer outings to
their guests at varying rates, while most accommodation will be able to provide you with the
name of a reliable guide, boatman or taxi driver if you prefer to arrange something yourself.
Bike rental Baba House (one block east of Av Central, behind the supermarket) rents out bi-
cycles ($8/day).
