Playa El Uverito and Puerto Mensabé
Playa El Uverito
, 10km from Las Tablas, is a favourite beach of Tableños for weekend party-
ing and picnicking, though if you come midweek, you can have a scenic stretch of chocolate
sand (ignoring the piles of rubbish on the way down to the beach, left over from said party-
ing) all to yourself. Another kilometre further south, at the river mouth,
Puerto Mensabé
also has a pleasant
beach
and excellent casual restaurant; the fish could hardly be fresher
since it's right next to where the fishermen land and fillet their catch.
