onomé from El Copé is at 7pm, slightly earlier for Aguadulce. Buses heading west along the
Interamericana will pick up/drop off passengers at the junction.

Costs are approximately $15 from El Copé to the park entrance, $6 to the park from Barrigón.

ACCOMMODATION
Albergue Navas Barrigón 983 9130. Anna and Santos Navas are warm, long-standing
hosts providing three simple cinder-block rooms with shared outside toilet and shower;
meals, made with fresh produce from their finca , are served in the family kitchen. Santos
and his son are wonderfully knowledgeable guides, whose services can also be hired by non-
guests ($12/group), though you'll need some Spa nish. The family also owns a rustic cabin at
La Rica, within the park. Meals are included. $35 /person
ANAM Park entrance; contact Hellington Ríos at 997 7538 in the ANAM regional office,
Penonomé. A spacious solar-powered self-catering cabin near the entrance affords sweeping
vistas, though conditions are often misty, and comprises a large lounge, a dormitory with four
bunks and a kitchen equipped with a stove, fridge and basic utensils. Bring a sleeping bag as
it's chilly at night. The park wardens are usually willing to be hired as gu ides. Cam pin g is
possible but there is no electricity and it is likely to be very wet. Dorms $15 , camping $5 /per-
son
La Mica Just outside El Copé 6549 7321 (Macedonia), lamica.org . A biological station
offering basic cabin or dormitory facilities and guided nature hikes of the area ($15/day for a
small group). They can also help arrange homestays in the scenicall y lo cated community of
Santa Marta on the park border. Meals are $5 each. Dorms or cabins $10 /person
