On the northern side of the island the charming sheltered cove of Playa Ejecutiva stands
out, backed by manicured grass dotted with shady trees. Further east, at the northern end of
the airstrip, The Point Hotel surveys Playa Galeón , where the ferries arrive and depart, and
fishermen can take you to Isla Saboga or further afield.
ARRIVAL AND GETTING AROUND: ISLA CONTADORA
By boat There are currently two ferries operating from Panama City. The cheaper ferry run
by Sea Las Perlas ( 391 1424, sealasperlas.com ) leaves the Balboa Yacht Club on the
Amador Causeway (daily 7.30am, returning 3pm from Playa Galeón; 2hr; $45 one way; $90
return). Tickets are sold online and at their offices in the Albrook Mall (8am-7pm) and at
the The Point Hotel on Isla Contadora. The more expensive and luxurious Ferry Las Perlas
leaves from the Trump Tower, Punta Pacífica (daily 8am, returning from Playa Galeón at
3.40pm; 1hr 50min; $57 one way; $95 return). Tickets are sold online (

By plane Air Panama currently makes one daily flight from Albrook Airport, two on Fridays
(20min; $73 one way), and has an office on Contadora by the airstrip (daily 8am-noon &
2-6pm; 250 4009).
By golf cart Most hotels and the dive operator Coral Dreams do a thriving trade in golf cart
and ATV rental. Prices vary (starting from $35/hr or $75/24hr) so shop around.
By taxi Golf cart taxis can also take you to your destination for around $5.
