In-Depth Information
Paris to Paris The Grand Tour
This is the big one: a whistle-stop circular adventure around France, tak-
ing in as many must-see sights as possible. It's doable in two weeks if you
pack things in, but we've suggested optional side-trips for each area if
your timetable allows a bit more flexibility.
Paris ( Click here )
Kick off with at least two days in the French capital, ticking off as many sights, mu-
seums and restaurants as you can. Add in another couple of days for day trips to
either the châteaux of Versailles and Fontainebleu or the champagne capital of
Reims .
AROUND PARIS
Paris' underground is the best way to explore the capital.
Lyon ( Click here )
From Paris, it's a speedy TGV trip to the lovely city of Lyon. Spend a day exploring
the city's sights, monuments and museums, followed by an evening meal in a typic-
al Lyonnais bouchon . Ideally, you should allow some time to explore the French
Alps - especially Chamonix and Annecy - but if you're pushed for time, skip the
mountains and head directly to the French Riviera.
PARIS LYON
Two hours From Paris Gare de Lyon via the TGV.
About five hours Along the A6
motorway.

You could soak up weeks lounging along the Côte d'Azur, but for this trip we've al-
lowed two days: one for the lively city of Nice , and another for the playground prin-
cipality of Monaco . En route you'll have the chance to experience France's most
memorable drive, along the famous clifftop corniches .
