France for Kids
France has a wealth of things to experience
and enjoy en famille, but the best way to
avoid domestic strife is to plan, plan and then
plan some more. Involving the kids in your
pre-trip research will help them get interested
in the adventure ahead and will ensure there
are plenty of things for everyone to look for-
ward to.
Museums and monuments can be fascinat-
ing, but roaming endless rooms of exhibits
can be dull, so it's always worth trying to give
a different spin to the experience to keep little
minds interested. Everyone wants to visit
Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris, for ex-
ample, but kids will especially love the climb
to the top of the tower to see the gargoyles
and Parisian views. Similarly, instead of the
standard tour of Mont St-Michel, how about a
barefoot guided walk across the sands? In
Burgundy, vineyard tours can make a great
family bike-ride, while at the Eiffel Tower, skip
the daytime queues and dazzle the kids with
a twinkly night-time tour instead.
