Watersports
France's coastline is fantastic for all types of watersports. The best surfing is on
France's west coast, especially around Biarritz. Windsurfing is especially popular in
Brittany, Normandy and along the Atlantic Coast.
White-water rafting, canoeing and kayaking are practised on many French rivers,
especially in the Alps, but also in the deep canyons of the Gorges de l'Allier, Gorges
de l'Ardèche, Gorges du Tarn and Gorges du Verdon, and along the Dordogne and
Lot Rivers.
