St-Émilion
Perched on a limestone ridge 40km east of Bordeaux, the honey-hued town of St-
Émilion ( Click here ) is a must for wine connoisseurs. Surrounded by vines as far
as the eye can see, it's also home to some of France's most hallowed châteaux -
so it's a fantastic place to try and buy wines. But don't forget to leave time for a tour
into the murky catacombs beneath the town's cathedral.
