Ten kilometres northwest of Colmar, Kaysersberg is an instant heart-stealer with
its sloping vines, hilltop castle and 16th-century fortified bridge.
2 RIQUEWIHR
With medieval ramparts enclosing a photogenic maze of twisting lanes, hidden
courtyards and half-timbered houses, Riquewihr is one of the most-enchanting
towns on the Route des Vins. It's 14km northwest of Colmar.

5 DAMBACH-LA-VILLE
Ringed by vines and sturdy ramparts, this flowery village has some 60 wine cel-
lars to visit. It's 32km north of Colmar.
6 CHÂTEAU DU HAUT KOENIGSBOURG

château is worth the detour for the wrap-around panorama from its ramparts.
