The old city's main thoroughfare, rue du Gros Horloge, runs from the cathedral west
to this square, where 19-year-old Joan of Arc was executed for heresy in 1431.
Dedicated in 1979, the thrillingly bizarre Église Jeanne d'Arc Offline map (
10am-noon & 2-6pm Apr-Oct) , with its fish-scale exterior, marks the spot where
Joan was burned at the stake.
