Bayeux Tapestry
Travel back a thousand years with the world's oldest comic strip, the 68.3m Bayeux
Tapestry ( Click here ), which recounts the story of the Norman invasion of England
in 1066. It is believed to have been commissioned by Bishop Odo of Bayeux, Willi-
am the Conqueror's half-brother, to celebrate the opening of Bayeux cathedral in
1077, although opinion is divided on where it was actually made.
