manuscripts scribed at the abbey are preserved. It illuminates Mont St-Michel's
many legends and stories.
5 MEMORABLE MOUNT VIEWS
The view from the Jardin des Plantes (botanical gardens) in Avranches is
unique; as are the bay panoramas from Pointe du Grouin du Sud near the fishing
village of St-Léonard, 5km southwest, and the clifftops in Carolles, 20km north. If
you like oysters, enjoy the view from Cancale in Brittany; if wildlife is your thing,
being afloat on a tiny boat in the 365-island archipelago of Îles Chausey is out of
this world.
