The pinnacle of Islamic architecture in Europe is to be found in the beautiful city of
Granada. The Alhambra might well be the most sublime sight in Spain but
Granada is a city with more than one trick up its sleeve. The cobblestone streets of
the Albayzín , or old town, are straight out of North Africa and the city's tea shops
and boutiques will keep you enthralled for hours. If time allows tack on an extra
couple of days for the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains and the snow-drop villages
of Las Alpujarras .
