RONDA CÓRDOBA

One of the most celebrated landmarks of world Islamic architecture, Córdoba's
Mezquita should not be missed; its forest of striped horseshoe arches are aesthetic
harmony wrought in stone. The Judería , gardens of the Alcázar and Arab baths
are other highlights, as are Córdoba's restaurants and festivals. It deserves at least
two nights.

The Alhambra , arguably the most important cultural site in Spain, is blessed with
the Palacio Nazaríes and Generalife gardens. There are fine views of the Alham-
bra and the Sierra Nevada from across the valley in the Albayzín .

Valencia has many strings to its bow. Its most eye-catching attraction is the futurist-
ic Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias , but the Cathedral , La Lonja and beach-
