Children on horseback during Feria de Abril, Seville ( Click here )
BRUCE BI
Spain is a great place to bring your kids, not least because children are
made to feel welcome just about everywhere. Children are such an integ-
ral part of Spanish life that you'll see families together in the most un-
likely places, such as bars. At fiestas it's common to see even tiny ones
toddling the streets at 2am or 3am. Visiting kids like this idea, too - but
can't always cope with it quite so readily.
Accompanied children are welcome at all kinds of accommodation, as well as in
many cafes, bars and restaurants. Before you baulk at taking your kids into a bar, re-
member that Spanish bars are as much hubs of social life as they are places to
drink. There is the problem of smoke, although with new laws coming into play within
the lifetime of this topic, this should become a problem of the past.
