Frontera is home to around 20 bodegas and most are open to visits, but they're
scattered around town and many of them require you to call ahead. The tourist of-
fice provides up-to-date information.
BODEGAS GONZÁLEZ BYASS
( 902 44 00 77; www.bodegastiopepe.com ; Calle Manuel María González 12; tours
€10; 11am-6pm) Home of the Tio Pepe brand and one of the biggest sherry
houses, it's handily located just west of the Alcázar. Six or seven tours each are giv-
en daily in English and Spanish, and a few in German and French. Reservations
can be made online.

Mon-Fri, 10am-2pm Sat Mar-Jun, 8am-3pm Sat Jul & Aug) This is another interesting
bodega, not only for its extra-aged sherries (20 or more years old), but also be-
cause it houses the Colección Joaquín Rivera, a private Spanish art collection that
includes important works by artists such as Goya, Velázquez and Zurbarán. Tours
of the collection are given three or four times a day.

February/early March.

Held in late April or first half of May, Jerez's week-long Horse Fair is one of An-
dalucía's grandest festivals, with music, dance and bullfights as well as all kinds of
equestrian competitions and parades.
