In-Depth Information
In the 14th century, churches were built in all the city's neighbourhoods and
today provide the focal point for a beautiful route through the city. Thirteen of the
original fourteen churches survive and all share common architectural features -
three naves with an apse, rose windows, stone walls and Mozarabic windows.
My favourites are the Capilla de San Bartolomé and the Iglesia de Santa Marina.
5 CASA DE SEFARAD
This privately run museum and cultural space occupies a beautiful 14th-century
house and serves as a centre for recovering the heritage and historical memory
of Spain's Jewish community. It's home to one of the most prestigious libraries in
Andalucía, and also hosts concerts of Sephardic and other Andalucian music.
