Peñíscola's old town, all cobbled streets and whitewashed houses, huddles within
stone walls that protect the rocky promontory jutting into the sea. It's pretty as a
postcard - and just as commercial, with ranks of souvenir and ceramics shops.

CASTLE

castle was built by the Knights Templar on Arab foundations and later became
home to Pedro de Luna ('Papa Luna', the deposed Pope Benedict XIII).

LA CASA DEL AYER

early-19th-century house. Every item has been collected or cajoled by Regina del
Val and her partner Felix.
