Bar-Cafe
( Plaza de Isabel II 2; 9am-1am Mon-Thu, 9am-3am Fri & Sat; Ópera) One of the
nicest bar-cafes in central Madrid, this place serves a rich variety of creative coffees
and a few cocktails to a soundtrack of chill-out music.
La Latina & Lavapiés
Most nights (and Sunday afternoons), crowds of happy madrileños hop from bar to
bar across La Latina. This is a barrio beloved by discerning 20- and 30-something
urban sophisticates who ensure there's little room to move in the good places and
the bad ones don't survive long.

Bar-Cafe
( Costanilla de San Andrés 14; 11am-2am Sun & Tue-Thu, 7pm-2am Mon,
11am-2.30am Fri & Sat; La Latina) We could go on for hours about this long-
standing cafe-bar, but we'll reduce it to its most basic elements: nursing an excep-
tionally good mojito (€8) or three on a warm summer's evening at Delic's outdoor
tables on one of Madrid's prettiest plazas is one of life's great pleasures.
LA ESCALERA DE JACOB
(Calle de Lavapiés 11; 6pm-2am; Antón Martín or Tirso de Molina) With magi-
cians, storytellers, children's theatre (on Saturdays and Sundays at noon) and live
Cocktail Bar, Live Music
