Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido
This stunning national park is where the Spanish Pyrenees really take your breath
away. At the heart of it all is a dragon's back of limestone peaks skirting the French
border, with a southeastward spur that includes Monte Perdido (3348m), the third-
highest peak in the Pyrenees.
The main entry point into the park is Torla ( Click here ), 3km south of the southw-
est corner of the national park.
From Escalona, located 11km north of Aínsa on the A138, a minor paved road
heads northwest across to Sarvisé, a few kilometres south of Torla. This road
crosses the national park's southern tip, with a narrow, sinuous section winding up
the dramatic Bellos valley and giving access to walks in the spectacular Cañón de
Añisclo (in the upper reaches of the Bellos valley).
From Bielsa a 12km paved road runs up the Valle de Pineta in the park's north-
eastern corner.
