only one part of the American energy opportunity, or that gets so deeply
mired in political bat les that it does nothing at all. If advocates and
politicians continue to i xate on decades-old i ghts, the United States
will lose many of the opportunities it now has to enhance economic
prosperity, improve national security, and address climate change. But
if the American people and their leaders can embrace a course that
exploits both of the unfolding revolutions in American energy, they
will realize rewards on every front.
