Figure 5-16 shows the location of the Extruder Bearing Hinge I. Part P is a moving piece and will
work in conjunction with Part Q (Extruder Bearing Hinge II) during the printing process by creating a
lever that enables a pinching motion on the PLA or ABS filament (the plastic) so that the motor can push
the filament down into the extruder nozzle. A bearing is fastened to this part to create an idler (a part
that keeps tension on a belt and reduces slack) on one side of the filament; the other side will have a
drive pulley connected to a motor that is installed to Part Q.
