Addendum
During the more than five months it took to put this topic together, two unexpected events happened.
The first was that some of the earlier electronics we had planned to use were declared obsolete, and were
no longer being made available for sale; fortunately for us, this happened well before we reached the
electronics chapters, and we were able to identify the newest electronics (called Gen4) and that's what
you'll find in this topic.
The second event was the discovery that if the Extruder (see Chapter 14) was not attached tightly
with the hose clamp, the melting plastic inside could slowly force the Extruder to slide out of the clamp.
A decision was made to offer a secondary solution to attaching the Extruder, but by the time this issue
had been discovered, we were close to completing the topic.
We didn't want to offer this secondary solution only online at www.buildyourtools.com, because we
were concerned some readers might not check the topic's website to read about changes or
modifications made to the machine after they had purchased the topic. So we've decided to include the
second method for attaching the Extruder here. It's going to be an abbreviated chapter, with a fast
walkthrough of the steps involved. Questions related to this method can be posted on the
www.buildyourtools.com forum.
