The first thing you need is the external power supply. A standard PC power supply of the style found
inside many desktop computers will work just fine. The power supply shown in Figure 18-6 is a 500W
(watt) power supply but any power supply rated to supply 300W or more will work.

You'll notice in Figure 18-6 that the power supply has quite a tangle of wires connected to it. The
wires you are interested in have white connectors on their ends and are often referred to as Molex
connectors (but Molex connectors come in various sizes so this is more of a general term). The first thing
you'll want to do is find the larger connector like the one shown in Figure 18-7.
