Forstner bits drill extremely clean and sharp holes. You can use them for straight-through holes, as
well, but the benefits of Forstner bits is that they come in much larger drilling diameters than you'll
typically find with other types of bits while still fitting in a drill press or electric drill.
Whatever bits you choose to use for your drilling, keep in mind that drilled holes cannot be un-
drilled. It's often easier to cut a new plywood part if you make a mistake drilling than it is to try and fix a
drilling mistake. That's why we'll remind you here to always double-check with the building plans to
make certain you've marked the drill points correctly. Use a transfer punch tool (if you have one) to
mark a starting point for your drill bits. And always verify the diameter of the hole being drilled and
select the correct diameter bit before drilling.
