Use a pair of pliers to squeeze down on the top and bottom of the connector, as shown in Figure 17-
4. This will close the connector on the wire, and small metal teeth inside will bite into the wire. You can
also use a vise to apply the pressure, but be careful not to crush the connector with too much force. You
will be able to look at the connector and visibly tell when it has been properly closed or clamped down
onto the wire.
