Soldering the PTFE Wire
Now it's time for some soldering. You'll be using the PTFE wire for this part of the project; the PTFE
coating can endure the high temperatures that will be generated by the power resistors that heat the
heater core.
The first thing you'll want to do is cut four 2” lengths of PTFE wire and strip off 1/4” from each end
with a sharp blade. Don't use wire strippers for this as the PTFE may not cut properly ; instead, a sharp
blade can be used to whittle away the outer coating and leave the wire intact. Be very careful not to cut
some of the wires inside; they are very thin and easily cut. Figure 14-10 shows all four wires prepared and
ready for soldering.
