Adding the X-Axis Motor and Motor Mount
The X-axis motor will control the forward and backward movement of the Table (Part C). The motor will
sit underneath the Table and use a nylon belt and notched timing pulley to control the movement.
Figure 13-1 shows the three stepper motors that will be used to control the X, Y, and Z axes. Each
axes has its own motor mount; a motor will first be attached to the motor mount and then the motor
mount will be added to the 3D printer body you've assembled so far.
Note You can purchase these types of motors with or without wires already attached, but we recommend that
you buy them with the wires already attached instead of soldering wires yourself. If you buy motors without wires,
you will need to solder wires to the motors or use another method for attaching the wires.
