As with many of the parts for the 3D printer, you may have to enlarge some holes or cut channels to
get a better fit during the assembly portion. In Figure 8-5, you can see that some of the 1/4” holes in the
MDO pieces on the right have been extended into channels.
ZY Plate - Part D
The ZY Plate, or Part D, is not a difficult piece to cut and drill, but it does require three counterbore
holes. Figure 8-6 shows the initial part with lines for cutting drawn on the face of the piece and a few of
the holes drilled, including the counterbore holes. The counterbore holes are drilled to a depth of 1/4”.
Note that we've written Xs on the waste material that will be cut away.
