Note Sharp-eyed readers may notice in Figure 7-10 that instead of the four larger diameter holes called for in
the plans, there are eight small diameter holes. This was a mistake, plain and simple. But it still worked, so we
didn't have to cut a new piece. Cut the four holes and you'll have wiggle room for attaching the Strong-Tie
brackets and positioning them correctly.
Machine Back - Part O
The Machine Back, or Part O, is a fairly simple part to drill, but it does require a few additional cuts. Use
the building plans to mark a set of lines and points for the 1/4” holes that will be drilled along the left
and right sides. Figure 7-11 shows Part O with the first set of holes drilled down the left side.
