Use a transfer punch or sharp bit to mark the eight holes to be drilled to hold the second Strong-Tie
to Part H. You can choose to drill these holes at 5/32” if you are confident in the accuracy of your marks
or, if you're like us, you can drill the holes for the second bracket slightly larger. These larger holes can be
either 5/16” (as shown in the plans) or at 15/64” (as we chose to do). Figure 7-8 shows these holes drilled
into Part H.
Note Figure 7-8 shows more holes than the plans call for. The extra holes are due to a mistake I made in
drilling the part. The extra holes won't hurt anything, so I used the part as I drilled it.
