Tarragona
Explore
Since the Museu d'Història de Tarragona - which comprises the main Roman sites - tends to
be busiest from midmorning onwards, it's best to start with its Amfiteatre Romà and the
Fòrum Provincial first, or the excellent Museu Nacional Arqueològic de Tarragona. Then,
head for the Catedral, followed by lunch in one of the many gourmet establishments nearby.
The Roman sights are spread out, so in the afternoon you may want to take a taxi to the
Necròpolis Paleocristiana, followed by the impressive Pont del Diable aqueduct. Alternat-
ively, have a peaceful wander along the Passeig Arqueològic Muralles - a walk between the
medieval walls - followed by a seafood meal at the fishermen's quarter of Serallo.
