Figueres
Explore
An early start is essential for visiting the incomparable Teatre-Museu Dalí - from midmorn-
ing, coachloads of tourists from the Costa Brava can make its narrow corridors quite claus-
trophobic. You'll want to spend the whole morning here, admiring everything from the ex-
terior to the bizarre decorative touches and Dalí's distinctive works before partaking in some
of the finest cuisine in the region, just out of town, or just grabbing a quick bite nearby.
There's more to Figueres than just Dalí, and there are several other attractions worth your
time if you have the stamina in the afternoon: the vast Castell de Sant Ferran, perfect for a
stroll around, or else the two entertaining museums in the centre.
