Run by a young, multilingual Venezuelan-Catalan couple, this first-rate outfit offers three-
hour cooking courses for both lunch and dinner. They emphasise organic, seasonal ingredi-
ents from local producers outside of Barcelona - put to good use in preparing five courses,
including paella (at lunch), a range of tapas dishes and
crema Catalana
(Catalan version of
crème brulée).
The best part is eating your creations, served up with generous glasses of organic Catalan
wine, or sangria on warm summer nights.

True to name, Rituels d'Orient offers a setting that resembles a Moroccan fantasy with its
dark woods, window grills, candle lighting and ancient-looking stone walls. It's a fine set-
ting for luxuriating in hammams and indulging in massages, body scrubs and other treat-
ments.
