Michelin-starred chef Carles Abellan (of Comerç 24 fame) adds to his stable with this old-
style bistro, which showcases the best of Catalan cuisine. From the cod brandade to the ox-
tail stew with truffled sweet potato, only the best ingredients are used, so be warned that the
prices can mount up a bit, but this is a great place to sample the regional highlights.

Lively, sunny and fun, Dos Trece is great for Sunday brunches (beware: the eggs Benedict
run out fast), budget lunch deals and late-night bites. The menu ranges from juicy burgers to
a more sophisticated rack of lamb, and the bar serves good cocktails. There are a few tables
outside, next to the kids' playground.

You'll want to come here for the divine decor - the dramatic bouquets, the oil paintings and
the antique details all around - as much as the food, though the menú del día is good value,
and might include a platter of seafood, and ample salads, as well as large glasses of wine.
Turning up early for lunch is advised to beat the queues.

This diminutive eatery is filled with antique furniture and offers traditional local cooking,
with one or two unorthodox variations. Paella and other rice dishes dominate. The entrance
is down the little Passatge de Bernardí Martorell.
