WATER TALES
In late 2009, Pat Mulroy, who heads up the Southern
Nevada Water Authority, talked about the harsh reality of
the water crisis facing those who count on the Colorado
River for water supplies. It's dominated by the specter of
a dried-up Lake Mead with water levels too low to pro-
duce electricity or meet the ongoing water needs of her
community. As she describes it,
