For history buffs, there is no better publication than Montana: The Magazine of Western
History (subscriptions 800/243-9900, www.mhs.mt.gov/pub ) , produced quarterly by the
Montana Historical Society.

pensable map book you'll find, these topographic maps cover roads and trails all over the

volume tackles the park's early years, from primitive exploration to early development.
Righter, Robert W. Crucible for Conservation: The Struggle for Grand Teton National
Park. Moose, WY: Grand Teton Natural History Association, 1982. This gripping history
makes one grateful that things worked out the way they did.
Righter, Robert W. Wind Energy in America: A History. Norman, OK: University of Ok-
