Swimming
With a soaring tax base, it's no surprise that Gillette has a wealth of terrific public facilities,
including the outdoor Gillette City Pool (909 Gillette Ave., 307/682-1962, daily early
June-early Sept.). Admission is free to the massive outdoor pool and all of its facilities,
which include a deep-diving well, zero-depth entry for toddlers, waterslides, a bathhouse, a
concession area, a sand playground, climbing structures, and a sunbathing area. The Camp-
bell County Recreation Center (250 W. Shoshone Ave., 307/682-8527, www.ccprd.com ,
5am-10pm Mon.-Fri., 8am-6pm Sat., 1pm-5pm Sun., $5 adults, $3.50 junior and senior
high students, $3 children, $11 family) is a phenomenal facility that has a climbing wall, a
kids' zone, an aerobics room, a gymnasium, a lap pool, a leisure pool, and a sports complex.
Call for swim session hours, which include open swim and lap swim.
Kids will be deliriously happy at the Caribbean Cove Indoor Water Park (2577 S.
Douglas Hwy., 307/682-1717, 4pm-10pm Fri., 8am-10pm Sat.-Sun. summer, call for winter
hours, $6 pp Fri., $8 pp Sat.-Sun.), an 11,000-square-foot indoor water park with a lazy
river, waterslides galore, a kiddie pool, and an activity pool. The water park is located in-
side the Fairfield Inn & Suites.
Golf
Golfers do not lack options in Gillette. The nine-hole Gillette Golf Club (1800 Country
Club Rd., 307/682-4774, $45-50 for 9 holes with cart) and the 18-hole Bell Nob Golf Club
(4600 Overdale Dr., 307/686-7069, $50 for 18 holes with cart, $35 for 9 holes with cart),
which underwent a vast remodel in 2013 with added putting greens and a clubhouse, are
both open to the public. The Bell Nob course also has a par 3 9-hole course ($8 adults, $2
children, $1 children with an adult).
