FOOD
With so many ways to burn energy, it's surprising that there aren't more eateries to refuel.
Still, you won't starve in Lander. The Breadboard (1350 W. Main St., 307/332-6090,
10am-8pm Mon.-Fri., 10am-4pm Sat.-Sun.) has been serving up soup and subs for more
than 30 years. A hub of the community in more ways than one, The Breadboard donates
proceeds from refills ($0.25) to local charities.
Foodies in Lander need look no farther than M Cowfish (128 Main St., 307/332-8227,
www.landerbar.com , 5pm-9pm Mon.-Sat., $13-29), which offers an assortment of fresh
seafood, salads, steaks, pasta, and homemade desserts that is impressive enough to make
you forget you are in Wyoming; it's impossible to leave hungry. Right next door and
under the same ownership, The Gannett Grill/Lander Bar (126 Main St., 307/332-8228,
www.landerbar.com , 11am-9pm daily, $7-25) is a local favorite offering hand-tossed pizzas,
juicy burgers made from local beef, gorgeous salads from the on-site organic garden, and
locally brewed beer. The outdoor dining option is insanely popular when the weather is
good. There is also a Scream Shack at the Gannett Grill in summer, scooping up delicious
ice cream and thick shakes.
