day and full-day trips. Overnight pack trips, which last 1-4 nights, can be arranged. Half
Moon Lake Resort (208 Forest Service Rd., 9 miles northeast of Pinedale, 307/367-6373,
http://halfmoonlakelodge.com ) also offers trail rides and pack trips with horses suited for
all levels of experience.
Golf
At the west end of town, Rendezvous Meadows Golf Course (Club House Rd., 307/
367-4252, www.golfpinedale.com , $20 for 9 holes, $27 for 18 holes) is a nice nine-hole
public course.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Because of a population boom driven by the energy industry, there are quite a few ac-
commodations in and around Pinedale, particularly given the size of the town. The Log
Cabin Motel (49 E. Magnolia St., 307/367-4579, www.thelogcabinmotel.com , $59-169) is
as charming as it is conveniently located. Built in 1929, the motel lives up to its name by
remaining true to Pinedale's architectural style. The cabins vary in size, but most are quite
spacious with partial or full kitchens, covered porches, satellite TV, and Wi-Fi.
The Half Moon Lake Resort (9 miles northeast of Pinedale, 307/367-6373, ht-
tp://halfmoonlakelodge.com ) has eight cabins tucked into the trees in addition to a lodge
restaurant and bar overlooking the lake. Activities on-site include fishing, hiking, boating,
and horseback riding. Another great lakeside resort is the Lakeside Lodge Resort and
Marina (3.5 miles northeast of Pinedale, 877/755-5253, www.lakesidelodge.com , year-
round), with 12 beautiful cabins ($75-169), all with immediate waterfront access and splen-
did views.
CAMPING
Sublette County is 80 percent public land, making camping in the region a viable option.
Among the closest (and happily, the most scenic) RV and tent campsites can be found
at Fremont Lake Campground (5 miles northeast of Pinedale, www.reserveUSA.com ,
mid-June-early Sept., $15) and the Half Moon Lake Campground (10 miles northeast of
Pinedale, $7). There is no potable water at Half Moon Lake, and none of its 19 spots can be
reserved.
