ACCOMMODATIONS AND GUEST RANCHES
While there are plenty of places to hang your hat in Jackson, during the prime seasons those
places will not come cheap. The best deal in town is the Anvil Motel (215 N. Cache St.,
800/234-4507, www.anvilmotel.com , $77-230), just a block off Town Square. The rooms
are cute and comfortable with microwaves, mini refrigerators, and air-conditioning. Tucked
right behind the Anvil is the even more bargain-friendly El Rancho Motel ($55-165),
which is slightly more spartan and does not have air-conditioning. Check-in for both prop-
erties is at the Anvil's office, and both offer Wi-Fi.
Although independent hotels and inns tend to reflect more of Jackson's charm, there
are plenty of nice chain hotels, some of which can offer good deals, particularly in the
off seasons. Among them are Hampton Inn (350 S. Hwy. 89, 307/733-0033,
www.hamptoninn3.hilton.com , $129-344); Jackson Hole Super 8 (750 S. Hwy. 89, 307/
733-6833, www.jacksonholesuper8.com , $89-209), which is steps away from the free bus
service in town; and Motel 6 (600 S. Hwy. 89, 307/733-1620, www.motel6.com , $52-132).
An adorable and comfortable bed and breakfast with easy access to both town and
country is Inn on the Creek (295 N. Millward, 307/739-1565, www.innonthecreek.com ,
$139-599), which offers balconies, fireplaces, king beds, and private in-room Jacuzzis in
some of their rooms. Another very peaceful place to stay with a babbling creek to help
lull you to sleep is the Wildflower Inn (3725 Shooting Star Ln., Wilson, 307/733-4710,
www.jacksonholewildflower.com , $300-400), which boasts cozy handcrafted log beds,
fluffy comforters, and delicious food.
Almost as close to Town Square but quite a bit higher on the luxury scale is The Wort
Hotel (50 N. Glenwood St., 800/322-2727, www.worthotel.com , $209-809), built in 1941
and a landmark in town, complete with the legendary Silver Dollar Bar & Grill, which
has more than 2,000 inlaid silver dollars as time capsule-type decorations. The rooms are
plush, and the location is great. Just down the street, the Rusty Parrot Lodge & Spa (175
N. Jackson St., 307/733-2000 or 888/739-1749, www.rustyparrot.com , $225-875) is like a
little oasis at the edge of town. From the on-site spa to the world-class dining at Wild Sage
Restaurant, every little detail is well considered. The 31 rooms and suites are luxurious;
some even have fireplaces and jetted tubs.
