7am-11am and noon-3pm Fri.-Sat. mid-June-Labor Day) serves up hearty “cowboy
cuisine” during the summer. They use beef from their own butcher shop and cook using
Dutch ovens heated over wood fires. Breakfast ($6.75-9.75) offers an amazing order of hot
sourdough pancakes (they'll bring you as many as you want), and dinner ($17-21) is an all-
you-can-eat affair. Lunch ($6-12) is served as well. The restaurant is used for private events
on weekend evenings. It's a good idea to call ahead for evening reservations and to make
sure the place is not privately booked for the evening.
Dornans Pizza and Pasta Company (307/733-2415, ext. 204, 11:30am-9:30pm daily,
$6-24) offers a large variety of salads, hot sandwiches, gourmet pizzas, rich pasta dishes,
and calzones. If you are looking to pick up something to eat on your hike, stop at Dornans
Moose Trading Post & Deli (307/733-2415, ext. 201, 8am-8pm daily) for everything from
freeze-dried meals and cold drinks to gourmet groceries and any camping equipment you
might need. The deli is open May-September and is a good option for a quick meal or
a sweet treat. If you have the time, don't miss a visit to Dornans Wine Shoppe (307/
733-2415, ext. 202, 10am-6pm daily year-round, longer hours in summer). It is an abso-
lute find for wine connoisseurs and novices alike. They have an award-wining selection of
around 1,600 varieties of wines and 150 types of cheese. Food & Wine magazine named it
one of the 50 most amazing wine experiences in the country, and Wine Spectator has be-
stowed its Wine Award on the shop for 23 consecutive years and counting.
