of the most significant hikes (and long, at nearly nine miles round-trip). The elevation gain
is minimal (980 vertical feet), and the trail, which starts immediately across from the boat

side ponds and streams. The easy Lakeshore Trail is only two miles long round-trip and
circumnavigates Colter Bay with stunning views in every direction.

road—great for mountain biking—that follows an ancient Indian thoroughfare all the way
to Ashton, Idaho. Along the way are hiking trails, streams, ponds, and splendid scenery.
